CE marking of Protan roofing

Protan roofing and waterproofing membranes will now be CE-marked in accordance with the following European product standard:
NS-EN 13956 Flexible sheets for waterproofing – Plastic and rubber sheets for roof waterproofing – Definitions and characteristics.

The CE-marking of roofing and waterproofing membranes has now become compulsory in order to gain market access to the entire EEA area. The purpose of CE-marking for building products is to ensure that the properties of products are adequately documented in relation to the requirements that apply to the building in which the products are to be used.  Such labelling is also designed to remove technical trade obstacles.

In the product standard, our roofing and waterproofing membranes will be documented in accordance with a number of test methods that are specified below.  These test methods have now also become, or are in the process of becoming, our national methods.  They are thus also being used in the Norwegian Building Research Institute’s Technical Approvals.

  • EN 495-5 Determination of folding at low temperature.
  • EN 1107-2 Determination of dimensional stability.
