Roar Lunde Joins Protan as Chief Operating Officer – Production

From June 1st, Roar Lunde has taken on the role of Chief Operating Officer – Production at Protan, overseeing operations in Norway, Turkey, and Poland. With a rich background in technology and production management, Roar is set to lead Protan into a new era of innovation and quality.

Background and Experience

Roar’s journey began in his grandfather’s workshop, sparking a lifelong passion for technology, mechanics, and machinery. He holds an engineering degree in technical cybernetics (robot technology) and an MBA. With 15 years of experience in production management and 10 years in managing contracting companies, including 5 years as the head of Protan Contracting, Roar brings a wealth of knowledge to his new role.

His experience extends to working with a technical weaving company that produced textiles and geotextiles for both Norwegian and international markets. This role provided him with valuable insights into the roofing industry in Europe, with hands-on experience in production facilities in Lithuania and Malaysia.

Embracing Industry 5.0

Roar’s vision for Protan aligns with the principles of Industry 5.0, where the synergy between humans, machines, and sustainability is paramount. He believes that the future of production lies in the seamless integration of human creativity and technological precision.

Ambitions and Future Goals

Roar aims to leverage data-driven decision-making to optimize Protan’s global production facilities. One of his key ambitions is to continuously log data from machines, using this information as an input  to enhance efficiency, quality and sustainability

Roar’s involvement in motorsport has also influenced his approach to production management. The discipline and attention to detail required in racing are qualities he brings to his role at Protan, ensuring that every product meets the highest standards.
