Here's how to return

  1. Order Protan big bag when you buy SE products for new roofing projects
  2. Collect SE offcuts and SE surplus material in the big bag
  3. When the big bag is full, remember to:
    - The big bag must be dry when Protan collects it.
    - The big bag must be labelled with the customer's name when transported back.
    - Big bag is picked up at the warehouse and not at the construction site.
    - Big bag is on a pallet when collected
    - Big bag does not contain other components such as felt, fasteners, etc.
  4. Order transport free of charge through this form to your warehouse. Transportation must be arranged at least 2-5 days before collection.

Why return?

By returning cuttings and surplus material, we ensure that the products are included in a circular cycle. By reusing the materials, we reduce both climate emissions and the consumption of non-renewable natural resources. This is a simple but important measure to ensure that products that would otherwise become waste are reused and contribute to a more circular economy.

The "ReShaping Plastics" report, published by SYSTEMIQ in 2022, confirmed circularity as the fastest, most affordable, efficient and reliable way to reduce waste and greenhouse gas emissions from the plastics system.

Furthermore, in the concept, Protan guarantees that roof membranes sold from August 2024 can be returned for recycling at the end of their service life.

What happens to the returned cuttings and surplus material?

The returned material is regenerated and reused in new products at our factory. Protan has established procedures across all its production facilities to recycle surplus materials into new products. In 2023, our roofing products consisted of 4.5-6.5% recycled surplus material, depending on the product and production site.

Please note that fees may apply if the instructions under "Here’s how to return" are not followed.
