Protan VentiSmartTM will assist the operator to reduce the MTTR (Mean time to repair) and therefore reduce the energy cost. Quick maintenance lead to shorter time for the fan to compensate for the air-loss.
Protan VentiSmartTM consists of Air-velocity sensors (wireless), qty defined by customer and gateway. The number of needed gateways will be defined on site.
A test performed in a straight tunnel gave a need of one gateway pr. 2000 meters.
Cabled or wireless network in the tunnel/mine are connected to the gateway. And the cloud based user interface with login can be displayed on Laptop, smartphone, tablet etc.
The sensors measure the air velocity at each sensor point and sends it wireless to the gateway. The gateway sends the data to the software in the cloud and the software compares the data with a set baseline as reference and alerts any deviations. It is the deviation/changes between two sensors which will determine if a leakage has occurred. The alarm is given if the deviation is higher than the
accepted limit.
If the alarm is triggered, the operator should immediately do repairs if possible. If not the operator should ramp up the fan to compensate for the air loss which will increase energy cost. Then repair the leakage as soon as possible and reduce fan speed to normal level.
